Descendants of Myrtle Holmes

Myrtle Holmes had no children of her own. For many years she provided care for children who were wards of the Family Services agency, usually infants, most often sickly. She was often given care of little ones who were considered beyond the care of the hospitals, yet time after time with love, care and prayer she nursed them back to health, only to have them adopted, never to see them again.

Lynne was one such child. However, she stayed with Myrtle and Carl so long that when she was to be put up for adoption, it became obvious this would be too traumatic for her so proceedings were stopped, and she became a permanent foster child of Myrtle and Carl.

Myrtle was a member of the L.D.S. Church, and genealogy studies being very important in their faith she became a student of the topic. She worked closely for many years with Wilma Holmes, and much of the information on this site is a result of her studies and diligence.
